The Ferrari Mondial, a model produced from 1980 to 1993, owes its name to the victory of the F1 world championship won by Scuderia Ferrari in 1979. The first series was called Mondial 8, using a clear reference to the number of cylinders of the engine that equipped it, and was a 2+2 designed by Pininfarina. Its features also included the tubular frame, the extended wheelbase, the transverse mounted engine, independent suspensions and the 5-speed gearbox. It featured a 2926 cc V8 engine that delivered 214 hp, fed by a Bosch K-Jetronic injection system. A total of 703 units were built of which 145 were right-hand drive and 558 left-hand drive. Production lasted only two years, then leaving room for the subsequent series named “Quattrovalvole”.
This car has a fascinating history to say the least, as in addition to being one of the first produced, had only one owner to date. Its color combination, red for the bodywork and black for the interior, is the most classic, but the conditions are like new as it is completely first paint.
Its main quality is its very low mileage, only 7,000 km from new, also due to the fact that it has been standing still since 1989.
The interiors are still intact.
All the booklets are present with the car, including the service book.
